‘2020 Vision – for creating sustainable societies’ with world renowned futurist Dr Peter Ellyard and ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ endangered species’ vital role in symbiosis’ with zoologist and endangered species specialist Prue Simmons. Prue will be joined by a large lace monitor and other amazing creatures, courtesy of Animal Tracks.

Generation Waking Up with Mill Park Secondary College, Lorna Brooks and students
An introduction to a student led workshop whose aim is to “ignite a generation to create a thriving, just and sustainable world”. The workshop uses dynamic DVD material and interactive group exercises to look at 4 key questions. Who are we? Where are we? What has to change? What can we do now?
The aim of GC2U is to deliver interactive online and live event enrichment programs for both primary and secondary schools, both across Australia/New Zealand and internationally, that complement the national curriculum annual focus – at a fraction of the cost of excursions or incursions. Programs are specifically designed to increase young people’s awareness of pathways for creating sustainable and equitable outcomes and an appreciation for the cultural and ecological richness and diversity of our wonderful world.

2020 Vision for creating Sustainable Societies
Presented by SBN Patron, futurist & best-selling author Dr Peter Ellyard. This deeply enriching interactive experience evokes emotional intelligence – empowering young future makers with the motivation and keys for creating sustainable outcomes. (2 x 100 mins)
Dr Ellyard will also be presenting a leadership program especially for year 9 level (1x 100 mins)
GC2U 2013 program also includes
With zoologist and endangered species specialist Prue Simmons. In this positive and proactive two-part series, students will develop knowledge, enhance investigative skills, engage with endangered species experts and see a myriad of amazing creatures. (2x 100 mins)
Healthy Soil, Healthy Food, Healthy Planet
Up close and personal with BFA Organic Farmers – this program is an excellent live complement to the BFA Organic Schools Garden Program. The 2 part program can also be taken individually.
Part 1 looks as why healthy soil makes healthy people and why good soil care is a crucial key to both nutrition and a healthy planet. (1x 100 mins)
Part 2 The compost chef demonstrates why worms and food waste make a good mix, plus the do’s and don’ts of worm farming and compost making. (1x 100 mins)
